Kim Kardashian wants to star in a sitcom. The 31-year-old socialite recently had a cameo in a live episode of comedy show 30 Rock and now hopes to take her career in a new direction. "She really wants to move beyond reality TV and be a comedy actress," a source said.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is said to be inspired by Modern Family beauty Sofia Vergara. "Kim wants to be the next Sofia Vergara," the source added to The Sun.

Cheryl Cole is being lined up for a role in Modern Family.

The 28-year-old singer - who premiered her new single "Call My Name" yesterday - has been approached by bosses of the multi-award winning ABC comedy to take on a guest part. "They really want to get Cheryl involved. And it's a coveted slot. Everyone from Britney Spears to Lady Gaga have made it known that they would love to appear in it. It's a real honor to be asked to do it and it would be a great next step after Cheryl's appearance in the movie What To Expect When You're Expecting, a source told The Daily Mirror.

  • Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo, 8 P.M.): "James Lipton conducts an interview with actor and funnyman , star of The Truman Show (1998), Man on the Moon (1999) and the Ace Ventura films." This would be an example of a "yes man" interviewing the Yes Man.
  • Lie to Me (FOX, 8 P.M.): "When Cal (Tim Roth) is asked to determine if a mental hospital patient is being held against his will he begins to question his own sanity." When you go from Reservoir Dogs to a television series, it's natural to question yourself occasionally.
  • Castle (ABC, 10 P.M.): "Castle and Beckett interview a top magician (Gilles Marini) after the owner of a magic store drowns in Houdini's legendary water torture tank." Now that's a man who can make magic happen.

2010-11 Midseason Television Programming Schedule


A new year means a new TV schedule.

This week, we’ll see a number of familiar faces returning to primetime. On Monday, Brad Womack will play The Bachelor for a second time on ABC. The following day, Paula Abdul will come back to reality television with while Jane Badler will once again be featured in a series titled V.

As you will see from the schedule, Hellcats won’t be the only show airing on a new day. The Defenders will move to Fridays as will . Meanwhile, NBC has shuffled its Thursday night comedy lineup around.

We hope our detailed guide -- with information from the five major networks -- can assist you in the weeks to come. We’ve included the days, times and return/premiere dates for the midseason programs.

First Look: James Marsden Gets Wet on Modern Family

We've already seen what a fully-suited George Clooney looks like in bed with Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

In 2011, it will be James Marsden's turn to hang out with Cameron and Mitchell ... in a hot tub. From the looks on their faces, it didn't take much -- or a shirt -- to enchant the couple.

Keep an eye out for the hunky actor when the comedy returns to ABC on January 5.

Matt Dillon to Guest Star on Modern Family

Matt Dillon might have thought there was something about Mary, but at one point he thought there was something about Phil Dunphy's wife, too.

It was recently announced that the Takers star has been tapped to appear in a future episode of Modern Family. Matt will play a former boyfriend of Claire’s who has developed a friendship with her mother (actress Shelley Long).

No date has yet been announced for Dillon’s arrival.
