Write-Ins Revealed: New Yorkers Want Monty Burns for Mayor

The Simpsons - Mr. BurnsSpringfield bad guy Montgomery Burns enjoyed a strong showing among write-ins for last month’s mayoral race in New York, scoring nearly 10% of the write-in votes.

Of the 299 write-in votes logged, the character got a whopping 27. Not bad for an animated character who wasn’t even running.

Of course, Michael Bloomberg was re-elected to office, trumping other write-ins like Mickey Mouse, Alfred E. Newman and Victor Von Doom.
