Although we’ve already learned the celebrities comprising Dancing with the Stars 9, we know now the 16 pairs vying for that mirror ball trophy.
Aside from the addition of Anna Demidova (last season’s contest winner), there will be no new faces in the professional line-up this round. (The cast is already comprised of three So You Think You Can Dance vets as it is.) Louis Van Amstel, who was just seen on SYTYCD, will also make a return to his old stomping grounds.

Why DWTS’ Derek Hough was Hospitalized
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, News,
If you watched last night’s broadcast of Dancing with the Stars: Season 6, you may have wondered about a comment host Samantha Harris made backstage. After Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough did their Samba, it was revealed a trip to the emergency room almost kept Hough off the show.
For those keeping track, that would make two hospital visits in approximately two weeks for Julianne’s sibling.
Before last week’s show, Derek tweaked his neck while rehearsing for a routine that didn’t involve his celebrity partner. Unsure if he was going to be able to continue, Jonathan Roberts was asked to work with Shannon on the Viennese Waltz in the interim. Fortunately for Elizabeth and Hough, the couple reunited in time to earn a 28 during that Monday’s show.

Dancing with the Stars 6: Week 3 Loser
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars,
For its second results show, Dancing with the Stars: Season 6 went back to the solo elimination system. Misery may love company, but only one couple will end up getting the boot from this point on.
If the choice was based on Monday’s scores alone, Marissa Jaret Winokur (19) would have been the one to go. The Broadway performer was the only person - and that includes Adam Carolla - who failed to surpass 20 points yesterday. But viewers taking all three past dances into account would have probably put either Adam or Steve on the block. Those two men averaged only 18.3 points per performance.

Dancing with the Stars 6: Week 2 Losers

Without a token model to cast off this time around, the viewers of Dancing with the Stars: Season 6 ultimately based their first set of votes on sheer ability.
For the show’s first double-elimination, there were little surprises to be had. After Monday’s numbers were combined with last week’s scores, magician Penn Jillette and tennis star Monica Seles both found themselves one foot out the door. (Their grand totals of 33 and 30, respectively, were the lowest of the competition.) Tonight, the fans gently pushed them the rest of the way out.
At this stage last fall, Josie Maran and Albert Reed were the first two to be let go. The real shockers didn’t start developing until several weeks in. Could we eventually see a Sabrina Bryan-esque elimination this season? If so - when do you think it will happen? Place your bets now!

The division of the sexes formally ended on tonight’s Dancing with the Stars: Season 6. All twelves couples gathered for their last chance to dazzle the viewers before Tuesday’s dreaded double-elimination.
Last week, Adam Carolla and Monica Seles scraped the bottom of the scoring barrel (15 points each) while Mario and Kristi Yamaguchi (24 and 27 points, respectively) made it known they were the ones to look out for. How did the celebrities fare with Monday’s dances? Did they do anything in their second outing to change their standing in the competition?

Marie Osmond Collapses on ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, News,
In tonight’s East Coast version of Dancing With The Stars, the viewers at home and in the ballroom witnessed a shocking moment. After performing her samba with partner Jonathan Roberts, competitor Marie Osmond fainted in front of a live audience. Later explaining that this sometimes happens when she gets winded, Osmond fell onto the floor while standing before the judges (luckily, Roberts was there to help break her fall).
The show immediately went to a commercial break while Marie was attended to by medics. Assuring them that she was fine, she and Jonathan later re-emerged to receive their final scores. (Read our later post about DWTS to get a breakdown of all the performances). It’s unclear at this time whether the West Coast broadcast will air the literal show-stopping moment.
