Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Desperate Housewives: Two of the world’s most famous supermodels will be making the ABC show their runway. Both Heidi Klum and Paulina Porizkova have just been tapped to appear as themselves in an episode next month. The scene - which will be set in New York - will also involve Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker) and Angie Bolen (Drea de Matteo).

Wednesday Ratings: ABC Feels Some Love

ABC might not have been the winner last night, but Modern Family and The Middle did their best to help. Despite competition from American Idol‘s Group Night, Family reached another series high in the demos. Meanwhile, Middle - with help from Charlie Brown - hit a high of its own.

Wednesday Ratings: Human Falls Short of Target

Life pre-Idol never looks quite as good as it does post-Idol. Last night, Human Target took quite a hit in its new 8:00 time slot and tied a repeat of Modern Family in the demos.

  • Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials (2.9/9 in 18-49) had 11.2 million laughing.
  • (7.8 million, 2.4/7) gave up 2.6 million.
  • (2.7/8) scored 7.3 million.
  • A * repeat (2.4/7) pulled in 6.8 million.
  • (6.3 million, 1.6/5) added on 500,000.
  • * (1.4 million, 0.6/2) slid by 300,000.

  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  “A convicted killer () on death row receives a 24-hour stay of execution after doubt is cast on his guilt.” New evidence suggests he may have been given that girl’s underpants.
  • Hoarders (A&E, 10pm):  “A firefighter whose home overflows with his possessions.” That’s just a fire waiting to happen! Oh -  maybe that’s the point.
  • Damages (FX, 10pm):  “Patty and Phil, locked in their bitter divorce battle, find one piece of common ground: their dog.” Phil - if you love the dog, just give it to her. Trust me.

ABC Canceling Ugly Betty

DescriptionDespite ABC’s attempt to find a good home for , the network finally decided to give the time shifting a rest. The comedy will be canceled after its fourth season ends.

“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty‘s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion,” the producers and ABC said in a joint statement.

“We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell,” they added.

The show’s finale is expected to air sometime in April.

In an upcoming episode of , the actress’ real-life sibling, Chris Williams, will guest as “Wilheldiva Hater”—a more fabulous version of Mode‘s creative director.

How will Wilhelmina Slater feel about this drag queen? Well, if she didn’t find her lookalike so handy, she might just scratch her eyes out.

Look for Wilheldiva and Wilhelmina to meet on January 20.

Wednesday Ratings: CBS was the People’s Choice

Despite strong performances from (most of) ABC’s comedies and SVU, viewers made CBS their choice last night. Yesterday’s People’s Choice Awards broadcast earned its best demos and viewers since 2007.

  • A new edition of (2.9/8 in 18-49) brought in 8.5 million for CBS.
  • An early edition of (2.2/6) raised 7.5 million; the comedy’s second half hour (8.2 million, 2.7/7) hit season highs.

  • A * repeat (1.3/4) had 3.4 million singing.
  • * (0.4/1) dialed up 895,000.

Now that we’ve made halfway through the television season, it’s time to readjust our DVRs once again.

Midseason staples returning to the airwaves include , 24 and Lost. Meanwhile, a number of new programs - including Human Target, and The Marriage Ref - will vie for our attention.
